15 Important Beard Growing Tips

1) It takes most men to grow a beard within 4-6 months.
2) Shaving or trimming will NOT make it grow back faster or thicker!
3) Wash your beard once or twice a week maximum. Washing your beard too often will strip out all the natural oils that are necessary to keep your beard healthy!
4) Exercise is important, but not completely necessary. At least, go for a brisk walk on the daily.
5) Relax! Avoid stress as much as possible. Stress in the long-term will affect beard growth. Go for a walk, a hike, watch a funny movie, travel, or take up a hobby.
6) If you think about shaving, sleep on it, give it at LEAST 3 days. That's a good amount of time to think about it and don't do it on a whim. BE PATIENT!
7) If your feeling discouraged by your beard growth, look at your then and now pictures!
8) Beard oil and beard brushes are great options to get more stimulation/blood flow to the follicles.
9) Take a daily multivitamin. Also, feel free to purchase Biotin as that will also help with hair growth.
10) VERY IMPORTANT DON'T allow anyone that gives you negative comments throughout your beard growing stages to hinder your goal of a great beard. For some reason family, friends, co-workers, and complete strangers will try to discourage you and tear you up for going or (growing) outside the "norm" of shaving every day. Especially in the beginning! There's tons of haters out there as we all know that will try to stop you from doing something because they can't or don't have the balls to do it themselves. I encourage all growing a beard to not allow any circumstance to make you shave. It's your face and trust me keep growing through the stages otherwise you'll never know what you could have!
11) Happiness and acceptance of one's ability to grow a beard naturally is one's biggest contributor.
12) Your diet affects your beard the same way it affects your body. Eat healthy, balanced meals and your hair will grow better, faster, stronger.
13) You'll notice it more than anyone else! You're looking at yourself in the mirror every day, inches away from your face, judging every flaw or bald spot in your beard. On-comers will most likely not even have a second thought about it! Remember, we all judge ourselves critically!
14) Get a good night's sleep! A study in 2011 by the American Medical Association said that if you sleep for 5 hours or LESS your testosterone levels decrease by as much as 15 percent! In other words, go to bed!
15) All in all, your beard will come with time and lots of patience. In the meantime, start imagining how great it will look when fully grown!
